Default Extraction methods

Hi, I am new to this forum. I'm here more as a research method. I am investigating different methods of getting the most and best flavors from the beans. Coffee gets much of it's flavors from the oils in the bean. It seems strange that water is what we use to get that flavor out. Has anyone ever tried adding a small amount of a flavorless alcohol to the water before brewing? I am thinking like evaerclear (pure grain alcohol) or even a very high quality vodka that has nearly no flavor. Seems a solvent such as alcohol would cause a more efficient extraction of the flavor than just plain water.

Let me know your thoughts.
