Default How much space do dry, green (unroasted) coffee beans occupy? How many cubic...

...meters/metric ton? I have found figures for this, eg: 25lb/cu ft, the problem is I'm not sure whether they are talking about the bulk density of just these beans themselves or not. What I'm wondering is less academic, and more realistic: how big a warehouse does one need to store a large (x) amount of beans, considering there are tiny, unfilled spaces of air inbetween the beans?

1 sack of green coffee beans= 60kg. A 20' shipping container, which is 33 cubic metres in capacity, will take a total of 18,000kg, or 300 sacks of green coffee with not much room to spar. So I guess Kris you could use this formula if loking at bdgeting for warehouse space.

HOWEVER I would add that the above equation is for shippin> shrt term storage. I would be adding good palletisation for long term storage- so add a little for that.
