Default Anyone drunk coffee in Syria?

Hi there...
Me and the girlfriend have been discussing going to Syria/Damascus on holiday. I've always liked that strong Arab coffee (got the taste while living with some Israelis), and wondered if anyone had been and knew what the coffee scene was like out there? I've heard mixed reports...

Also, if any users live there, is it safe to visit at the moment? News stuff recently sounds quite heavy, but then just read this report from there, which sounds great...

Clerk & Teller

Any advice gratefully received... JDQ

I haven't been to Syria, but I have some friends who went recently -- it's safe to go. the coffee should be really strong and tasty there!
