How do I get rid of addiction to caffeine?

I spent a couple weeks drinking about 2-3, 24oz coffees a day during rough times in school. Then once I stopped I got the worse headaches ever! So I started drinking less and less..now i'm down to 8 oz cups a day this pass week..but if I go with out that I get that horrible headache again. When will it stop!!?? How long does it take?
