Why is it that as soon as you sit down with a hot cup of coffee, your boss.....?

probably that, your Boss's Boss gave him that task which your boss gave you just at the time when your Boss sat down with a hot cup of coffee , so that he does not miss his hot cup of coffee ?

Because when you get a promotion someday and they send you to a 'How to be a Boss' seminar, that's the second thing they'll teach you, after rule no.1 "Never keep things in order so that your secretary will never have the chance to sit down and enjoy a cup of hot coffee". Rule no.2 starts with "In case your things ARE in order.."
